Do a few every other day and you're number will start to go up. When I started I couldn't do pullups, 4 months later I can do weighted set 3x10.

I can do like 20 chin-ups but even 1 pull up and my shoulders feel like they're gonna explode in a bad way.

A couple of years ago I could do 4, with my left hand that is and 2 with my right. Normal ones idk I think 33 or something like that.
Now a days I am but a mere shadow of what I used to be (still had chicken legs obviously cause calisthenicsfag), coming out of a depression and injuries period, slowly trying to get back in shape.

How the fuck did you get to 20 in one set? I've been trying for 4 months to improve my pullups and I'm still at 10. Also due to various setbacks.

Gotta just do a lot of them mate, and always aim to increase the numbers. I see people that do their 3 sets of 10 reps FOR YEARS at the parc, without progressing anywhere cause they're just not trying to. Also weighted pull ups help tremendously, but go humble with the weights.

At my best I was getting to around 30-35.

I was doing +45 for up to 10-12 reps.

I could do a +110 for a couple of reps.

Start adding weights every other chinup workout once you can either consistently do 10x3 or over 13-14 reps in one set. There's a certain limit to how much chinups can improve with volume alone (same as any other strength training really).

I used to do 14 before a long 3 month time out. It dropped to 3 after but I'm slowly getting my gains back

I used to do a 5x15 unweighted for shits and giggles. Then I had a rib cut out and they told me I'm not allowed to do them anymore.

5 Strict form then 5 more with kip.

About 125k atm.

I don't bother with numbers, I progress easier with weight.

I can do 3x5@+25kg. But only like 15 if I had a go unweighted.
