There's a guy at my gym with legs that look like that but he squats 275 lbs and i've seen him do calf raises too.
I did skip legs by accident last week, but my calves and thighs are fuckin massive really so I'll be okay.

that's exactly the opposite, most of Veeky Forums has some lower body development and no upper body because they're still in their novice phase doing SS/GSLP/whatever
I like all leg exercises, I'd much rather never do ohp or deadlift ever again

there's no requirement to do exercises you don't like or feel might injure you
but every day is leg day

hiking will get you sick calves but no thighs
yeah except it hits hamstrings and lower back much better than a squat variant does due to the mechanics of the lift
also trains grip, traps, and tons of other little muscles in between
