A movie is horrible because it is 99% watching something and not interacting. It is quite literally all your attention on something besides your date, you do not interact at all. The movie demands that you actively engaged in not interacting so that you are quiet. The best possible first dates are maybe go out bowling, go to a restaurant, maybe a fair, etc. Anything else.
