"alpha male" theory

So I wanted to read about "alpha males" and I discovered that scientists don't accept it as a thing among Humans, only bonobos, wolves, and capuchin monkeys.

What the hell? Why hasn't anybody researched this among humans? Till now I assumed it was a scientific fact, and I expect most on this faggot website do too

Or maybe... It's such an uncomfortable subject that no one is willing to fund research into it

I think alpha male behavior in humans is less about physical strength, like it is in other species, but more about the mental strength of the person.

it's not taken seriously because it's mostly a meme, most guys have no problem getting laid but you will always end up with websites like Veeky Forums full of virgins who can't get laid perpetuating the alpha/beta dichotomy

Epic idea dude but I'm looking for evidence. If I wanted baseless ideas that sound correct I'd go to literally any other board

why would you believe humans have it?

>only bonobos, wolves, and capuchin monkeys
and what other animals have alpha males leading a troop? what animals don't have this. why should we be one over the other?

Wolves don't have alpha males in the way you describe. Alpha male just means "The Dad"
wolf.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/267alphastatus_english.pdf

And Bonobos? Are you kidding? Hardly any male bonobo behavior could be described as "alpha".

Well... Look at where your average hyper-macho, aggressive, stacked "alpha" male actually is in the hierarchy of our society. Is he at the top? Or is he working class?

Maybe he's got some of the behavioral traits of an "alpha", but he doesn't usually fill the role of leading a pack. At best, he's maybe a restaurant manager or something. Usually, he's so cantankerous and unpleasant, he doesn't make it that far.

human societies are much more complex than just tribal packs of bonobos.
reducing it to just "oh, alpha male" won't cut it as a scientific explanation for humans.

>why should we be one over the other?
We are one over the other in our current society. So my natural assumption is that we were always like that and that some people getting a lot and some starving to death is encoded into our genes

>posting social science on Veeky Forums
Nigga you better check yo'self before you kek yo'self.

Sucking your bro of is pretty alpha if you ask me

Lmao. You don't need "evidence" to prove common sense. The fact is some men deserve everything because of thier natural charisma and leadership ability. These men are called "alpha males.

>wolves
Can't provide a source right now, but I read somewhere that it only applies to captive wolves.

see

Obviously alpha males are just a normie meme, there's no real biological basis for it just a term to describe dominant men

>only bonobos, wolves, and capuchin monkeys.

scientists is a pretty vague term
and also, the term alpha is not used anymore. retards like you who dont know jackshit about science think that an "alpha" wolf is a wolf that is so badass and manly that became the leader of a pack. the truth is that the leader is usually the father of the rest of the pack and wolves barely fight eachother at all. if one wolf is excluded from the pack or just leaves it, o an "omega" wolf, it's not a loser or some shit. it just leaves it so it can find a mate and start a pack of his own.

now fuck off back to /r9k/.

>and what other animals have alpha males leading a troop?

why do you think it is that way? seriously, WHY? tell me your reasoning.
in bonobos, there is no alpha male. they are kind of "lead" on by a bunch of females, and those females are usually better ranked just because they had sex with more individuals of the group than others. and it is only slightly.

it's a synonym for confidence, charisma, assertiveness.

Unfortunately cultural Marxism has made it so the reality of human nature being inherently unequal is not researched. I assure you that alpha vs. Beta males do exist in reality. You only need to observe the workings of society to realize this.

nice bait polfag

Thanks for the (you) beta bitchboi. The reality is that the reason inequality exists is because alpha males exist that are genetically superior to the beta peons that are under them.

Anthropology as it is taught in colleges implies that humans were egalitarian and so it leads naive college students to think that it is possible now and helps turn them into liberals or even worse, commies

Do you think people will look at me weird if I start reading a book on human sexuality in the campus library?

No counterpoints? Good, that's what I thought

I'm not sure if this constitutes alpha-male but according to DNA evidence, only about 40% of human males throughout history have descendants while 80% of females do.

Link citations please. I haven't heard of this

Here is the original study but the link is dead:

psy.fsu.edu/~baumeistertice/goodaboutmen.htm

humans organize themselves differently from culture to culture, and in most successful civilizations they were organized in patriarchal families of one single adult male. If you're looking for an "alpha male" equivalent you should probably look into semi-nomad amerindian tribes.

It is not scientific, just an internet meme.

How is it a baseless idea? Females are attracted to the top percentiles of men. That's a fucking obvious observation.

The top percentiles of men will have a disproprtinate effect on future population.

"Alpha" is just a meme but it describes a real phenomenom, that a few men have impact beyond most other men and often display aggressive and dominating traits.

99% of what "everybody knows" about human sexuality is an effort to explain why 80% of the guys got no pussy in high school.
If you want to understand this shit, start with a degree in anthropology.
You probably won't actually learn anything about human sexuality, but at least you'll grasp the scope/scale of the incomprehensibility of the issue.
