Same school and major. Which dorm?
Bragging thread
Sitting for the agrégation, fucking regretting not having gone for the msc
Shit school full of perverts and autists. I started my PhD last week.
Just ended undergrad a pic related. That school could actually use few more perverts and autists
Not the best Uni by any means, but they threw a lot of money at my subject recently putting it 19th place on some list. They're pretty good for getting jobs.
I'm a lawfag, by the way.
Ditto, second year physics
>tfw you get a free textbook that covers everything you study in first year
Literally never seen him walking around
No, it's that minorities have to achieve incredibly less in order to attend prestigious schools (except Asians, they have it even worse).
No only is that bullshit, it also means that White and Asian students often have suspicions that their nonwhite colleagues are not qualified to be with them, sometimes rightly so.
Are the research opportunities really as good as they say they are there? I've heard u can do it as a freshman. Also major?
Pre-career achievement is largely relative. Xinhao who won the math Olympiad after years of coaching from his parents and tutors has achieved something less impressive than Jamal who did it on his own while helping his single mom raise his multiple half-siblings.
There's a huge difference between Chicago (Cook County) and the rest of Illinois. I currently live in the nice north suburbs of Chicago. We pay about 1600 per month for rent
I walked around campus a lot late at night as I'd spend most of my time in the lab. When I was a Freshman, I was wary of wandering alone, but by Senior year, I felt fine. The one person I know who was robbed, was antisocial and went out of his way to avoid some of the crowded streets around the Sox stadium (our campus is on the opposite side of the expressway).
I got my BS in Mechanical Engineering there and started my graduate degree there, but had to leave for reasons. I got in by applying to a bunch of schools and it was the only one that accepted me and gave me a scholarship.
The touristy parts of Chicago are completely safe during the day, the red line is crowded late at night (I've ridden it packed at 2am and it runs all night). I've been to some of the run down areas with no problems. You just kinda get use to it I guess.
The funny part is I went to grad school at UT knoxville and actually felt unsafe. In the semester I was there every "rape" was reported via email, we were informed not to go near one of the dorms as someone was seen to be carrying a gun, I was shouted at from a car twice, and told to step off while riding my bike back home.
