R and Stata are programs that allow you to perform statistical analysis on a professional level. It includes pretty much anything anyone could ever think of. There are packages for everything, seriously.

Yeah I second this, nowadays a BA in econ will put you behind a stats or math BSc for econ grad school, it's pretty funny desu.
