However this line on my bottom gut has never been there before. Sometimes it's not there, other times it's very visible. Pic related is about somewhere in between & this was right after a workout (so I know it's not from sitting down or posture)

For a conventional deadlift you bend your knees, I don't see the problem?

If you mean Romanian, either prop up the bar on suitable steps to increase the height so you can reach the bar or you could instead do rack pulls
